Professor of the Department of Industrial Organisation at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, PhD in Industrial Engineering and Msc in Innovation Management by AENOR.
His teaching activity focuses on the area of innovative management of organizations and quantitative methods. He has developed his academic and research career at the Bilbao School of Engineering of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Her main research interest focuses on innovation management, a line of research in which he has been working for 20 years. He is the author of numerous publications in national and international journals in the field of management, integration of management systems, innovation and technology..

Rosa María Río-Belver, PhD

Rosa María Río-Belver has a PhD in Engineering, specializing in Industrial Engineering, MSc in Environmental Sciences and Technology and Msc in Management of Innovation by AENOR.
She is a University professor at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU; teaching subjects such as Operations Research, Industrial and Technological Politics and Competitiveness-Innovation. Her main research interests are focused on innovation management, competitive intelligence, technology maps, emerging technologies, tech mining, knowledge engineering, and foresight. She is the author of numerous papers and is involved in national and European projects.

Gaizka Garechana, PhD

Dr. Garechana currently serves at the Business Management department of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). His research interests include innovation management, the science and technology indicators, text mining tools and scientific evaluation systems. Engineer in Industrial Management by the Engineering School of Bilbao (UPV/EHU) and PhD by the University of the Basque Country.
She is a lecturer and researcher in the Engineering School of Bilbao. Her teaching activity focuses on the area of competitiveness and business innovation, and the design and management of production systems. Her research activity includes the following areas: management of innovation and new production models, entrepreneurship, as well as the application of different methods ranging from scientometrics to text mining.

Alejandro Rodríguez Andara, PhD

Ingeniero Civil por la Universidad Central de Venezuela, Magister en Ciencias y Técnicas del Agua y Medio Ambiente por la Universidad de Cantabria, Especialista Universitario en Desarrollo y Cooperación Internacional y Doctor Ingeniero Industrial por la Universidad del País Vasco / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU).
Desde 1991 ejerce como docente en la UPV/EHU en áreas de Grado y Postgrado. Actualmente es profesor Titular de Universidad en el Departamento de Organización de Empresas. Sus áreas de investigación se centran en la ingeniería ambiental, desarrollo sostenible, la gestión ambiental y la incorporación de metodologías activas en la minería de textos. Autor y coautor de diversas publicaciones, ha realizado numerosas contribuciones en congresos nacionales e internacionales y participado en proyectos de investigación.

Itziar Martínez de Alegría, PhD

Itziar Martínez de Alegría is Graduated in Business Administration and Economic Sciences by the Facultad de Ciencias Economicas y Empresariales (Sarriko) of the University of Basque Country (UPV-EHU).
She as a PhD in Economics in the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Bilbao (ETSIB) of the UPV/EHU and has a Master in European Studies by the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and the University of Deusto (Spain). From the year 2000 she has worked as Professor Assistant at the ETSIB in the areas of Economics and Business Management. She has written a wide number of articles, book chapters and other publications in the areas of Energy, Climate Change Policy and Sustainable Development. She has also been a speaker in different International and National Congress related with the aforesaid areas. From the year 2008 she is Coordinator of the Economy and Energy Areas of the Energy Working Group at the International Studies Chair (Cátedra de Estudios Internacionales (UPV/EHU)), as well as usual invited speaker at the Conference on Energy and Climate Change (Spain) organized by the cited Chair.

Ismael Etxeberria-Agiriano, PhD

Ismael Etxeberria-Agiriano is an Associate Professor at the University College of Engineering, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since 2005. He received his degree in Electronics Engineering and his degree in Computer Science from the University of Mondragon (Spain). He received his PhD in Computer Science from the Staffordshire University (Great Britain). His main research interests are Artificial Intelligence, Applied Ethics, Computer Security, Distributed Computing and ICTs. He has been lecturer at the University of Mondragon. He worked three years as consultant for the Crédit Lyonnais in Paris (France) and continued working for financial application for another three years before returning to education.

With more than ten years of experience in management in private/public companies, he is currently lecturer at the University of The Basque Country UPV/EHU. His current research is focused on his dissertation, “Local clusters generation model, applied to renewable energy and energy efficiency emerging sectors, through Network Theory” and his research interests are management innovation, local clusters and renewable energies.
